Based on our strong commitment to humanitarian values and founded in 2025, Kryla is a collaborative Swiss-Ukrainian endeavor. This ensures that our projects are closely aligned with the realities on the ground in Ukraine.
“Kryla” means "wings" in Ukrainian. Inspired by the beautiful poem “Kryla” by the renowned Ukrainian writer Lina Kostenko, our name reflects our shared goal to help Ukrainian children affected by the war to “spread the wings of hope, dreams, and passion…”.
Kryla’s first project will support an Art Lab and a Music Lab in Ukraine. Both initiatives are designed to help children and adolescents build resilience through creative expression.
Transparency:
Kryla is built on a foundation of transparency, trustworthiness, and effectiveness. Only reputable partners are chosen by us, with our Ukrainian contacts on site facilitating regular audits.
Integrity:
We uphold high ethical standards and expect the same from our partners in Ukraine. We are accountable for the meticulous governance of every donation.
Impact:
Our team works entirely on a voluntary basis, which allows us to maximize the impact of your contributions by minimizing overhead costs.
Sustainability:
Integrating sustainability into mental health care ensures follow-up and prevention. This fundamental value guides the long-term vision of our projects in Ukraine.
Kryla is dedicated to supporting the comprehensive mental and emotional wellbeing of war-affected children in Ukraine. By providing access to professional mentors and psychological care, we aim to empower children's inner strength.
Kryla supports established projects in Ukraine that help children and youths affected by the war and carefully evaluates their impact after completion. Our objective is to empower them to strengthen their resilience and revive the dreams that the war has shattered. Starting in summer 2025, Kryla will partner with the Ukrainian organization "Voices of Children", which provides expert social and psychological guidance to Ukrainian children and teenagers affected by the war. These services include professional counseling and therapies designed to assist youths in how to cope with their daily life in wartime.
We are proud to welcome Luzia Tschirky as the first ambassador of Kryla. She is a renowned Swiss journalist, author, and expert on Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, and the Russian war. For around twelve years Luzia has worked with SRF (Swiss Radio and Television), reporting first from Moscow and, after the beginning of the full-scale invasion, from Ukraine. In autumn 2023, she returned to Switzerland. Luzia is the author of the book “Live from Ukraine”.
